Ukrainian Dance Workshop

Join Ukrainian professional dance teacher Iryna Marchenko for an hour of expressive contemporary dance in our beautiful Minghella Studio space with its lovely wooden floor and wall of mirrors.
Iryna ran her own dance school in her hometown of Pereyaslav. She currently lives in Havant and is the choreographer for our Two Colours Ukrainian Choir, based here at New Theatre Royal.
Dance is its own language – Танець – це своя мова
Workshops are suitable for all abilities and speakers of all languages.
There are three workshops available
4 – 5pm
– Ages 6 – 10 years
5 – 6pm
– Ages 11 – 16 years
6 – 7pm
– Ages 16 and over
There is a maximum of 20 dancers per workshop
After fleeing the war in Ukraine, the Two Colours Ukrainian Choir was formed by a group of women have been studying at HSDC Havant College to learn English. In November 2023 they stunned audiences with their incredibly moving performance of traditional carols and modern hits performed in both English and Ukrainian at the New Theatre Royal Portsmouth.

Ірина керувала власною школою танців у своєму рідному місті Переяслав. Зараз вона живе в Гаванті і є хореографом нашого українського хору “Два Кольори”, який базується тут, у Новому Королівському Театрі.
Майстер-класи підходять для всіх рівнів навичок і для носіів будь-якої мови. Сесії групуються за віком. Усі є вітаються.
Танець – це власна мова.
