Grace Campbell’s comedy show “Grace Campbell is on Heat” I feel can only be described as comedy gold from start to finish. This unfiltered take on Grace’s chaotic life constantly brought joy to all throughout!
Throughout the show we learn about Grace’s habits, personal life and as some may describe it complicated love life. We begin the show with a warmup act which consists of Grace herself, in her own words ‘if you can’t warm up for yourself, who can you warmup for?’
Grace did an incredible job of engaging with the audience, ensuring everyone felt comfortable to laugh out loud to the fullest during her performance. She began by describing her type in men as anyone with a failed professional football career to asking everyone’s favourite vape flavour, this could only be described as a bonding experience for all.
A highlight during the warmup had to be Grace planting thoughts into the audience’s brains, that based off everyone’s reaction, I doubt anyone had thought about before, such as why there happens to be no factor 40 suncream – some may say food for thought.
After a short break, we move on to the main story telling element. Grace began by introducing us to her friends that have stuck by her through it all, they quickly became a key aspect in every story of her life. As well as her newest addition Eddie, her dog who also has her main character moment within the story telling from time to time.
Grace’s relatable stories had the audience hooked in the most comedic of ways, even the most emotional stories and vulnerable parts of her life she was sharing were very quickly turned into comedy gold while being such a powerful watch.
The show ended with a full circle shocking moment taking us back to an underlying reoccurring character, safe to say what was revealed made every audience member’s jaw drop.
Grace Campbell is on Heat is written perfectly, using humour to vocalise some tough topics. The personality of the show is extremely relatable for many young women, showing in both the highs and lows of life a laugh can always be found.
The experience of watching this show almost felt like you were having a catch up with a friend of your own. With constant laughter and a heartfelt touch, this show is a perfect watch for a night out with the girls!
