Getting around

  • Step-free access to the auditorium is available via our street-level entrance to the left of the main doors (next to the Brewhouse pub). Press the buzzer and a member of our team will be happy to help.

  • The Stalls Bar has step-free access. There are a few steps to access the Dress Circle Bar from the lift level.
  • Lifts provide access to all levels of the building.

  • Accessible toilets are available on both the ground floor and Dress Circle levels.

  • The Studio is accessible by lift and has an accessible toilet nearby.

  • We have four wheelchair spaces available in the Stalls and one space in the Dress Circle all offering great views.  These can be booked by calling the Box Office on 02392 649000.

  • Our lift is positioned next to these seating areas for easy access.

If you need help finding the best route to your seat, just ask our Box Office or Front of House team.

Accessibility FAQs

What are relaxed performances?

These performances are adapted to be more accessible for people with autism, sensory sensitivities or learning disabilities. They’re a little quieter, use less or no special effects and the lights in the auditorium will be kept on.

Are guide dogs allowed in the theatre?

Yes. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome. Please let us know in advance so we can offer the best seating.

Are the theatre bars accessible?

The Stalls Bar has step-free access. There are a few steps to access the bar in the Dress Circle.

Are there any accessible parking spaces near the theatre?
  • The Dorothy Dymond car park opposite the theatre is for university permit holders only from 6am–6pm on weekdays. Outside of these hours, standard charges apply.

  • Blue Badge holders can use the Isambard Brunel Multi-Storey Car Park nearby (charges apply).

Will there be strobe or special effects during a show?

Some performances may include strobe lighting, haze or pyrotechnic effects. If that’s the case, clear warning signs will be displayed in the foyer on the day of the performance.
